The Gospel is for sinners

Someone from my community group said, tonight, that often he gets the feeling that he is told by churches that the main purpose of the gospel is that Christ has saved us so that we can stop sinning, when in reality the gospel is that Christ has saved us because we sin. This is for the believer as well as for the unbeliever.
